Our client had been running their wholesale fresh produce distribution business on an unsupported legacy desktop software application that was more than twelve years old. Overtime, the software became less stable and more unmanageable. Additionally, there was no path for scalability and as a result, the software was having a significant negative impact on day-to-day workflow and productivity. Over the years, our client considered a number of off-the-shelf software products, but none of them was a good fit for their unique business processes.
What We Did
Our due-diligence software and business analysis process allowed us to understand the business and industry as well as the challenges and opportunities. During our discovery process, we modeled the entire business workflow in order to identify all threats and opportunities and provided detailed screen mockups for the proposed solution. We developed a robust custom ERP system capable of managing and tracking orders and purchases as well as receivables and payables financial transactions.
In addition to the peace-of-mind our software solution was able to provide by replacing an end-of-life legacy system, our client experienced an immediate competitive advantage due to their streamlined business processes and workflow. They reported saving an average of two days per user per week due to increased productivity as a result of the custom ERP software solution we developed.
